Do not force a stuck garage door or attempt spring repair yourself. If it is safe to look, these notes can help the callback start with the right symptom and urgency.
Before the callback
- Is the door stuck open, stuck closed, crooked, heavy, reversing, grinding, or not responding?
- Is there a visible spring gap above the door, cable slack, popped roller, bent track, or damaged bottom seal?
- Do the opener lights blink, does the motor hum, or did the issue start after a storm or power flicker?
- Can you safely photograph the full door, spring tube, tracks, opener rail, sensor lights, and bottom seal?
- Is a vehicle trapped, is the garage exposed, or is there a driveway/access constraint near the door?
